Description: Created for Jessamyn Abel’s book, Dream Super-Express: A Cultural History of the World’s First Bullet Train, from Stanford University Press. Shows a combination of proposed (as of the 1960s) and existing train routes in the Kanto, Chubu, and Kansai regions of Japan. Route paths were drawn from translated historical documents.
